Anthology Film Archives Benefit
Capitale, 130 Bowery, NY, NY 10013

On March 2, Anthology Film Archives, one of the world’s largest and most important repositories of avant-garde film and a New York cultural and architectural landmark, will hold an unparalleled art auction.
This special evening will raise funds to build the much-awaited Heaven and Earth Library and Café.

The initial design of Anthology Film Archives included a Library and a Café that have yet to be completed. The Heaven and Earth Café will serve Anthology’s audiences and the neighborhood with proceeds going toward Anthology’s operating costs. The Library and Gallery will enable Anthology to unpack and make available to scholars and students all the unique books, documents, art collections (Harry Smith, Paul Sharits, Jim Davis, Joseph Cornell, Jerome Hill, Kenneth Anger, and many many others). And the elevator will finally enable film lovers with disabilities to access the upper floor theater.
