As a leading force in live event production in New York, Josh Wood Productions has dedicated itself to creating provocative and socially conscious benefits, concerts, festivals, theatrical productions, political events and nightlife.
Current projects include Inspiration, a new amfAR event series created and produced by Josh Wood Productions that celebrates men’s style. Beginning in 2010 in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, the Inspiration gala series will grow to include events in multiple cities and will feature a different design "Inspiration" each year. The design inspiration and theme for 2010 is "Black Tie//Black Leather." Participating designers and celebrities in the Inspiration series include Kylie Minogue, Ricky Martin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein Collection, Dolce & Gabbana, Rick Owens, Cyndi Lauper, Estelle, and Kelly Rowland.
Josh Wood is the music curator of "America: Now & Here", an unprecedented cross country exhibition of America's greatest living artists including Eric Fischl, Chuck Close, Jasper Johns, Jeff Koons, Julian Schnabel, Philip Glass, Lou Reed, Paul Simon, Sting, Yoko Ono and Edward Albee.
Past projects have ranged from the creation of The Highline Festival, a citywide arts festival curated by David Bowie, to protest concerts against the Iraq War featuring Michael Stipe, Scissor Sisters, Rufus Wainwright, Margaret Cho, Moby, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Antony and the Johnsons, Norah Jones and Damien Rice.
Josh Wood Productions' political leadership projects include collaborating with Lady Gaga to rally support for the National Equality March in Washington D.C.; producing the official LGBT events for Barack Obama's New York City campaign featuring President Bill Clinton; and the creation and production of the Wedrock Marriage Equality Concert Tour featuring Lou Reed, Margaret Cho, Erasure, Sandra Bernhard, Pink, John Cameron Mitchell, Alan Cumming and others for Freedom to Marry.
OUT magazine honored Josh Wood as one of the 100 most influential people of 2007.
